Introduction

Amman is a city enriched with glamour of the past and the present, known as the ancient city of Philadelphia. See Late King Hussein Palace, where he is buried, the Roman Theater and Citadel.
 

Depart to the north to visit Jerash, the most complete and well preserved city of the Roman Empire. During the Roman Empire it was often called "Pompeii of the East".

This tour will also take you South of the kingdom to Petra. The ancient Nabataean city of Petra is considered one of the wonders of the world and people come from all over the world to see it.

A local English Speaking Guide will be included for 2 hours in Petra and 2 hours in Jerash. The guides are provided by the Authority of Petra and Jerash under the Ministry of Tourism.

Day by day tour itinerary:-

Day 1: Amman (D)
Upon your arrival into Amman, you will be met and assisted from Amman Queen Alia international airport. The driver will transfer you to your hotel, the rest of the day is at leisure. Dinner and overnight in Amman.

Day 2: Amman - Jerash (B, D)
After breakfast enjoy a panoramic visit of the city of Amman. Amman is a city enriched with glamour of the past and the present. You will visit Amman's downtown market and city center, its traditional souks, coffee shops, restaurants selling local food and sweets, churches, mosques; amongst other popular places. Amman is also the ancient city of Philadelphia with its Roman theatre and the Citadel (entrance fees to the Roman theatre and the Citadel not included). You will pass by the Late King Hussein Palace, where he is buried, then drive to the other side of the city, a wealthy area with pubs, international restaurants and discotheques. Following this, depart to the north to visit Jerash, the most complete and well preserved city of the Roman Empire. Jerash is one of the Decapolis cities of the north of Jordan. During the Roman Empire it was often called "Pompeii of the East". You will visit the colonnaded streets, theatres, oval plaza, Temple of Zeus, markets and villages. Return to your hotel in Amman, dinner and overnight (see hotel list for hotel details).

Day 3: Petra (B, D)
After breakfast, depart to the South of the kingdom to Petra. The Nabatean Red, Rose City of Petra that can be considered one of the wonders of the world. A city 139 miles (225 kilometers) from Amman, carved in stone more than 2000 years ago in order to dominate the trade routes of ancient Arabia. You will visit its towns, damns and water channels.

First, walk the siq, a narrow path of three quarters of a mile (1.2 kilometers), which is the main entrance to the city. At the end of the siq, you will see The Treasury " Khazneh" - which was believed to hold countless treasures. The first view of the "Khazneh" is breathtaking. Other monuments you can see are the monastery and the altar of sacrifice. Return to Amman, dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Amman (B)
After breakfast and to coincide with your departure flight details, you will be transferred to Amman Queen Alia International Airport to meet your outbound flight.
