We visit natural reserves in Jordan, museums, woman projects and much more. We will stay some nights with Bedouin families, or if you prefer in a mid range hotel.  We will cook one of the dinners with a Bedouin woman at her house, meet children at their Bedouin schools, visit the new projects in Jordan that support the Bedouin families in Jordan,

 OPTIONAL we spend two days as volunteers with children to teach them the client’s language, All accommodations at mid-range hotels or Bedouin homes.

This is a one of a lifetime fantastic tour of Jordan, for those who are adventurous. This is not your usual tour and is recommended only for those who enjoy a more adventurous life style. Accommodations are listed with some hotels and some camping and with all hotels. We can arrange any combination of camping and accommodations you wish. You can take part in all of the hiking or part of it. We can arrange for those who do not wish to take part in a particular days activity to be taken to the hotel or Bedouin camp where the rest of your tour will meet you at the end of the day. 

Day 1:  Arrival

Meet and assist at Queen Alia International Airport, visa formalities, transfer to Amman, check in at Darotel hotel: Dinner

Day 2: Amman - Umm Qais - Jerash - Ajlun – Amman

After breakfast, transfer to Umm Qais for our tour of this site. Here you can enjoy the impressive view over Lake Tiberius and the Golan Heights We continue to Ajlun Castle and tour this site. The castle was used by the Islamic armies of Saladin to protect the region against the crusaders. Our next destination is a tour of Jerash, the Pompeii of the East. You enter Jerash through the monumental South Gate and find yourself in a Roman city. You will walk in the Oval Plaza surrounded by colonnades, visit the Roman theatre and Byzantine churches with mosaic-covered floors. Enjoy a stroll along Jerash’s main road and pass by the many well preserved monuments from this lost time. Because Jerash had been covered by sand for centuries, it is the best preserved Roman city in the Middle East.. You experience the marvelous acoustics of the theater. See for yourself how the Romans built the earthquake-proof columns of the colonnaded streets. Return to Amman, enjoy the night highlights of the capital of Jordan, dinner at your hotel or at nice restaurant, overnight.

Day 3: Amman – Salt

After breakfast we drive to Salt which was the capital of Jordan before Amman. We visit the new project of Salt's woman of handcrafts, If you wish you can assist the woman with their new project. Next visit the old museums and old houses in Salt, In the evening we return to Amman.  Breakfast and dinner

Day 4: Amman – Madaba – Nebo – Karak - Dana

After breakfast we tour the Madaba Museum and se the famous mosaics including the mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land. Your next stop is Mount Nebo, where like Moses you will be able to overlook the Holy Land and the Dead Sea. If the sky is clear Jerusalem, Jericho and Bethlehem will meet your eye. Our journey continues along the King’s Highway. Next we visit the Karak Castle where Saladin and Richard the Lion-heart fought during the crusades. Check into the Hostel of Qadesia families association or if you prefer a mid range hotel.

Day 5: Dana - Wadi Dana - Fainan

Today’s tour is optional. If you prefer you can be driven to the Bedouin camp and spend the night with the Bedouin or in the hotel in Edge where the tour well be this evening. Today’s tour starts with a short visit to Dana Spring, For those who wish we hike to the hole of Wadi Dana, three hours of easy hiking. Next, we will continue via the Bedouin trail to Qussaib Spring and then continue for a  couple of hours more to Atta’. We have lunch at the Spring and continue to the end of the great Valley of Dana Natural Reserve, ending at Edge, a beautiful hotel. We will cross the beginning of Wadi Araba desert, there a Bedouin family will be waiting to welcome you to their Bedouin tents, where we will have a traditional Bedouin dinner and the tour guide will tell you stories of the Bedouin and their history. Dinner and overnight at the Bedouin tent with the family or hotel accommodations are available.

Day 6: Fainan - Wadi Ghuwair - Wadi Araba - Wadi Namala - Little Petra

After breakfast, and say goodbye to the Bedouin family or our hotel and hike to copper mines in Wadi Fainan, the oldest and largest copper mines in ancient time. After a short visit we continue to Wadi Ghwair, where jeeps will be waiting to drive us into the canyon. In the canyon we will go on a canoe sightseeing tour for two hours. After our sightseeing trip, our jeeps will be waiting and we will drive across the desert of Wadi Araba and Wadi Namala with their amazing landscapes. We arrive in Little Petra, know for its stone age culture. We camp in Bedouin tents and have Bedouin loud and dram, with dinner Accommodation: Bedouin tents or with a Bedouin family in the Amarin village in Little Petra or hotel accommodations are available Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 7: Little Petra

Today we visit Siq El-Barid, and Mu'aisara Sharqeiah – late afternoon we drive to our Bedouin family in Wadi Mousa (Petra city).  We cook together with the family and enjoy an oriental dinner, overnight in the home or in the hotel. Breakfast, dinner

Day 8: Petra (Optional Horse and Buggy available for those who wish.)

Full day sightseeing in Petra, once a great commercial empire today it is best known as the site of the Indiana Jones Movie, “The Last Crusade”. We will visit the treasury, featured in the movie, the theatre, court, high place, soldier tombs, the great temple and more. We return to the hotel by van.

Petra by night:

To visit Petra during daylight is an awe-inspiring experience. However, to experience it at night by the light of 1,800 candles is truly an out-of-this-world experience! Walk through the Siq to the Khazneh following a candle-lit path and enjoy the haunting music of the Bedouin at the Treasury. Tours start at 8.30pm and finish at 10.00pm. Tickets can be purchased from the Petra Site Office at the entrance to the site. Allow yourself plenty of time to walk through the Siq, you don't want to miss the show. Overnight at the Hotel Amra Palace. Breakfast, dinner

Day 9: Petra

Today we will visit the new archeological project, (Being conducted by the Jordan University) With special permission we will study the new found ruins in Petra, and walk around the new digs, with our guide. This evening we drive to Bedoul Village, to meet with the general manager of Bedouin school and to meet the children. Accommodation: Bedouin family home or hotel.  Breakfast and dinner

Day 10: Petra - Wadi Rum

In the morning you will be transferred to what some say is the most beautiful desert in the world, Wadi Rum, site of the movie “Lawrence of Arabia” You pass the famous seven pillars of wisdom, described by Lawrence of Arabia. We will explore Wadi Rum, by jeep, escorted by a Bedouin guide. You shall see the house where Lawrence of Arabia lived, and the inscriptions made by the Thamudic and Nabatean people centuries ago. These are the same people who built Petra. We will check in at deluxe campsite, (all suppliers and equipment are available), dinner Bedouin BBQ, overnight at the campsite in the middle of Wadi Rum. This is a magnificent place to view the sky in the evening.

Accommodation: Campsite or Hotel accommodations are available. Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 11:  Wadi Rum

In the morning we take short walk around Rum mountain, and Nukhaila Spring for about 3 hours, About noon we come back to Rum village, where we meet the first volunteer teacher who came to Wadi Rum.  We introduce to you the small school at the village, and we spend the day with the children in the school to teach them English, or you can return to the hotel. Overnight accommodations in Bedouin tents or at the hotel. Breakfast and dinner

Day 12:  Aqaba – Dead Sea   

This morning we drive to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on the earth. We check into the hotel and enjoy a swim in the Dead Sea. Breakfast and dinner

Day 13: Departure

We drive to Amman and depending upon your flight schedule- we take a city tour of Amman. We visit the Roman theater, Citadel, National Museum and the old market. Later we transfer to the airport where we are assisted with departure for our flight home. Breakfast
