Optional Excursions
Petra by Night
£19
This exclusive optional arrangement reveals the magical ‘rose-red’ city
by the light of a thousand candles. After listening under the stars to
Bedouin stories and music at the Treasury, walk through the heart of
Petra to enjoy dinner at Petra’s only restaurant (about two miles of
walking, in stages, over sometimes uneven ground with return to hotel by
bus).
Little Petra
£18
Drive to Siq el-Barid (Little Petra) located close to the main site.
This is Petra in miniature with a modest gorge but wonderful rock-cut
temples, caves and multi-coloured rockfaces and, being less-visited, it
has an atmosphere all of its own.
Wadi Rum
(half-day) £42
Drive to Wadi Rum, where you will take a 4-wheel drive open-top jeep*
through the desert. Carry on driving past majestic mountains, explore a
gorge and see ancient rock drawings. Watch the sun set over the desert
mountain scenery. After dark drive to a Bedouin camp for dinner and
enjoy Bedouin singing and music around a camp fire. *Please be advised
that the jeeps have no seatbelts and are not suitable for anyone with a
bad back.
Yellow
Submarine £25
"The Coral Whispers" is the first see-through boat (semi-submersible) in
the region, which allows participants to see some of the Red Sea's
underwater treasures and the magical beauty of the Coral Reserved Area
via a window in a cabin three metres under the waters' surface.
Red Sea Cruise
£29
Red Sea yacht excursion to Pharaoh's Island includes a barbecue lunch,
tour of the fort and option to snorkel (charge).
Shobak Castle
and Dana Reserve £28
An optional afternoon excursion to Shobak castle, then the Dana Nature
Reserve at sunset.
